THE CORAL REEF REHABILITATION PROJECT

REPAIRING REEFS, IMPROVING COMMUNITIES

Did you know coral reefs are living, breathing things? Here at Mars, we’re doing our best to protect these natural wonders and support the communities that rely on them by participating in the world’s largest single coral reef rehabilitation project.

Off the coast of Indonesia, Mars Associates and our research partners have been working since 2007 to rebuild damaged sections of coral reef and to establish a marine protected area. Already, we’ve been happy to see significant increases in fish stocks, which provides both food security and job opportunities for many locals. We hope that the benefit of this project extends beyond Indonesia and that it serves as a blueprint for other similar projects around the world.

Coral Reef Rehabilitation

The coral reef rehabilitation aims to replenish marine life and to provide food security for the local population.
